Samsung may be preparing one of its most useful One UI upgrades yet. A new leak suggests that Samsung is testing a native app mirroring feature for One UI 9.5, potentially giving Galaxy users an experience similar to Apple’s iPhone-to-Mac integration.

The feature could allow users to interact with apps and notifications from their Galaxy phone directly through a laptop, even when the smartphone is locked.

One UI 9.5 May Bring App Mirroring to Galaxy Phones

According to a leaked screenshot of an alleged internal One UI 9.5 build, Samsung is testing native app mirroring.

The feature is similar to Apple’s ecosystem functionality, which allows users to view and interact with iPhone apps and notifications from a Mac while the iPhone remains locked.

For Samsung users, the feature could bring a similar experience to Galaxy phones and compatible laptops.

How Samsung’s App Mirroring Could Work

The leaked information suggests that users may need to sign in to the same Samsung account on both their Galaxy phone and laptop.

Once connected, users could potentially access their phone apps and notifications from the larger laptop screen without constantly picking up their smartphone.

  • Access compatible Galaxy apps from a laptop
  • Interact with phone notifications
  • Use the phone while it remains locked
  • Reduce the need to switch between devices
  • Keep important mobile tasks available on a larger screen

Galaxy S27 Ultra Could Be Among the First

The feature is reportedly being tested as part of One UI 9.5, which could arrive with the Galaxy S27 series.

That means the Galaxy S27 Ultra could potentially be one of the first Samsung phones to offer the feature when the next-generation flagship arrives.

However, the feature is based on an internal test build, so Samsung could still change or remove it before the final software release.

Samsung Is Borrowing More From Apple’s Ecosystem

App mirroring isn’t a groundbreaking idea by itself, but its arrival on Galaxy devices could make Samsung’s ecosystem more convenient.

Apple has traditionally used features that work across the iPhone, iPad and Mac as one of the biggest reasons to stay inside its ecosystem. Samsung appears to be taking a similar approach by adding more cross-device features to Galaxy phones.

The more of these small conveniences Samsung adds, the less important Apple’s ecosystem advantage could become for some users.

One UI 9.5 Could Bring More Features

App mirroring may not be the only feature Samsung is testing for One UI 9.5. Previous reports have also suggested that Samsung could introduce an app lock feature alongside other improvements.

However, Samsung has not yet officially confirmed the full feature list for One UI 9.5.

When Could One UI 9.5 Arrive?

Samsung is currently testing One UI 9 on Galaxy S26 devices in select regions, while the stable version has already started rolling out with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series.

If Samsung follows its usual release pattern, One UI 9.5 could debut alongside the Galaxy S27 series. That would make the Galaxy S27 Ultra a likely candidate for the new app mirroring feature.

Final Thoughts

Native app mirroring could be a small feature, but it could make a big difference in everyday use. Being able to access Galaxy apps and notifications directly from a laptop could save users from constantly switching between their phone and computer.

It also shows how Samsung is continuing to build a more connected Galaxy ecosystem while adopting features that have traditionally been associated with Apple.

For now, One UI 9.5 and its app mirroring feature remain unconfirmed. If Samsung does bring it to the Galaxy S27 Ultra, however, it could become one of the more useful software additions to the next Galaxy flagship.
