OPPO is preparing to launch the A7 Pro, and the phone is already
looking interesting because of its huge battery. OPPO’s official
product page confirms an 8,000mAh battery, IP69K protection and
a reinforced body designed to better handle drops.

The A6 Pro 5G is the older model and is already available in
India. It has a 7,000mAh battery, 80W charging, a 120Hz display
and IP69 protection.

So the big question is simple: should you buy the A6 Pro now,
or wait for the A7 Pro?

Display

The A7 Pro is expected to have a 6.57-inch OLED display with
a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution.

The A6 Pro 5G has a larger 6.75-inch display with a 120Hz
refresh rate. OPPO also advertises it as an ultra-bright panel.

The A6 Pro therefore has the larger screen, while the A7 Pro
could offer a more compact body. Final A7 Pro display brightness
and other panel details should be confirmed at launch.

Battery

This is where the A7 Pro has its biggest advantage. OPPO confirms
an 8,000mAh battery for the new phone.

The A6 Pro 5G has a 7,000mAh battery. That is already much larger
than what most phones offer, but the A7 Pro pushes the number
even higher.

Both phones are expected to support 80W charging. The A7 Pro
should therefore deliver longer battery life without giving up
fast charging.

Durability

OPPO is making durability one of the biggest features of the
A7 Pro. The company says the phone has IP69K protection and a
reinforced structure with additional protection around important
internal parts.

The A6 Pro 5G has IP69 protection and is also built to handle
water and dust. It is already a very durable phone.

The A7 Pro could still have the edge because its body design
focuses more heavily on drop protection. OPPO says its new
structure is designed to improve resistance against impacts.

Camera

The A7 Pro is expected to use a 50MP main camera with an
additional sensor and an 8MP selfie camera.

The A6 Pro 5G has a 50MP main camera and a 2MP secondary
camera, along with a 16MP front camera.

The A6 Pro therefore has the higher-resolution selfie camera
on paper. The A7 Pro may improve the main camera experience,
but final camera details should be checked after launch.

Performance

The A7 Pro is expected to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5
processor. It is paired with up to 8GB RAM in current
pre-launch reports.

The A6 Pro 5G uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chipset and
comes with 8GB RAM in India.

The two phones are aimed more at everyday users than serious
flagship gaming. The A7 Pro’s newer Snapdragon platform could
provide a small performance advantage, but proper testing is
needed before calling it a clear winner.

Software

The A7 Pro is expected to run Android 16 with ColorOS 16.
OPPO is also adding AI-based anti-fraud tools designed to warn
users about scam calls, fake faces and suspicious activity
across apps.

The A6 Pro 5G launched with Android 15 and has since received
the Android 16 update based on ColorOS 16.

The A7 Pro therefore gets a newer software starting point.

The OPPO A7 Pro is shaping up to be a phone for people who hate
charging their smartphone every day. Its 8,000mAh battery is
the biggest upgrade over the A6 Pro 5G.

OPPO is also giving the A7 Pro stronger water protection and a
reinforced body. That makes it interesting for people who want
a phone that can handle rough everyday use.

The A6 Pro 5G is still the safer choice for Indian buyers today.
It is already available, has a 7,000mAh battery, 80W charging,
a 120Hz display and official India support.

If you want a phone right now, buy the A6 Pro 5G. If battery
life and durability are more important and you can wait, keep
the A7 Pro on your watchlist until its September 11 launch.
