OpenAI Signs Major Malaysia AI Data Center Deal as Compute Demand Surges

OpenAI is expanding its AI infrastructure footprint in Southeast Asia through a new multi-year agreement with Australian AI infrastructure company Firmus.

Under the deal, OpenAI will receive computing capacity from two Firmus data centers in Malaysia. The agreement makes OpenAI an anchor customer for the infrastructure company as demand for computing power continues to rise across the AI industry.

OpenAI needs more computing power
