Luna has brought its screenless Luna Band to the Indian market, giving fitness users another option besides traditional smartwatches and subscription-based health trackers. The wearable is now shipping globally and is listed at ₹13,999 in India.

The biggest difference is simple: there is no screen. Instead of showing notifications and apps on your wrist, the Luna Band focuses on collecting health and activity data and using its LifeOS platform to turn that information into personalised guidance.

Luna Band focuses on health instead of notifications

The Luna Band can track several health and fitness measurements, including heart rate, blood oxygen levels, sleep, skin temperature and VO2 Max. It also uses movement sensors to automatically recognise activities such as running, strength training, boxing and other workouts.

The wearable can be worn on the wrist or upper arm and weighs around 24 grams. Its screenless design keeps the hardware small and removes the constant stream of notifications that comes with a smartwatch.

Luna’s LifeOS platform is the main software feature. It analyses the collected health information and presents personalised suggestions rather than simply showing users a long list of numbers. The system can also use information such as dietary habits and daily routines to provide more contextual recommendations.

No subscription fee is the big advantage

One of Luna Band’s biggest selling points is that it does not require a subscription. That makes it different from several premium health wearables where advanced insights are locked behind a monthly or yearly plan.

The band works with both Android and Apple devices, so users do not need to switch smartphone platforms to use it. Luna claims the battery can last for up to 10 days on a single charge, while the device also offers 5 ATM water resistance.

In India, the Luna Band is available for ₹13,999 and comes in Aloe Green, Desert Beige and Onyx Black. Additional straps are offered in colours including Ember Orange, Atlantic Blue and Glacier Blue.

The Luna Band is not trying to replace a smartwatch. Instead, it takes a different approach by removing the screen and concentrating on health tracking, AI-powered insights and longer battery life.

For people who want detailed fitness data without another distracting display on their wrist, the Luna Band could be an interesting alternative. Its ₹13,999 price and lack of a subscription fee also make the device more competitive in India’s growing wearable market.
