Vivo launched the X300 5G on December 2. However, we received the device a few days ahead of the official release. At the time of writing this review, it’s already day four of February, giving us ample time to experience the phone in real-world usage. So in this article, we skip all the generic aspects like unboxing impressions and the usual first-look details and focus directly on the real-world experience that actually matters.
How the Back Cover Holds Up Over Time
While dropping a phone isn’t part of everyday life, it did happen in our case. purely due to a moment of inattention while being engaged in other tasks. Luckily, the phone wasn’t dropped very often during our usage. Since Vivo provided us with a back cover, it remains as it is even now, it still feels like a brand-new case. Usually, after long-term use, phone covers tend to harden. However, in the case of the Vivo X300 5G, the back cover has retained its original texture and flexibility.

Long-Term Back Panel Wear and Grip Quality
Moving on, when using the phone without the case, we noticed an issue after around 60 days of daily use. The red texture on the back panel started to fade and gradually showed black marks, which isn’t a great sign in our usage. That said, this appears to be caused by dust accumulation rather than material failure.
The grip and overall comfort have been solid from day one. There are no issues with handling the compact form factor retains its charm, and at no point did the phone feel slippery. The grip remains secure and comfortable throughout daily use.
Display That Holds Up Under the Sun
We really don’t have any complaints about the display here. It remains bright with vibrant colors, and the claimed 4,500 nits of peak brightness performs very well even under direct daylight. Whether riding a bike or traveling in harsh sunlight, the screen stayed clearly visible and usable throughout, with no real issues during daily use.
Sound Quality in Daily Use
Moving to audio, the Vivo X300 5G features a dual stereo speaker setup that delivers sufficiently loud output for everyday use. Whether you’re streaming videos, scrolling through social media, or playing casual games, the sound remains clear and immersive. The overall audio quality feels above average, with decent clarity and balanced tuning, making it suitable for most day-to-day scenarios without the need for external speakers.
The Vivo X300 5G Camera Experience
While I won’t be able to upload the photos in their full original quality here, it’s worth noting that the camera optimization has remained consistent even after 60 days of usage. The photos come out crystal clear with no visible pixelation when captured properly. There were a few instances of slight blur, mostly depending on movement or lighting conditions, but overall, the image quality has stayed intact without any noticeable compromise over time.

Performance and software
The Vivo X300 5G runs on the latest version of Funtouch OS based on Android, and after 45 days of usage, the software experience feels more refined than earlier Vivo devices. The UI is smooth, visually clean, and packed with useful features that genuinely enhance day-to-day productivity.
Since I started using the device, Vivo has pushed new updates that improved system stability, camera performance, and animation smoothness. App opening speeds are fast, multitasking is fluid, and switching between heavy apps feels seamless.
However, like many smartphones in this segment, the device comes with pre-installed apps and promotional notifications. While these can be disabled, users may need to spend a few minutes customizing settings during the initial setup to achieve a cleaner experience.
Key software highlights:
- Smooth animations and responsive UI
- Useful customization options and productivity tools
- Regular updates improving stability and performance
- Some bloatware present but removable/disable-able
Overall, the software experience is polished and reliable for long-term use.
Performance & Thermal Management (Extended)
The Vivo X300 5G is powered by the Dimensity 9500 chipset, and in real-world usage, the performance feels flagship-grade. Whether it’s multitasking, video streaming, editing photos, or using social media apps, the phone handles everything effortlessly.
During daily use, I did not encounter app crashes, stutters, or frame drops. Background app management is efficient, allowing multiple apps to remain active without reloads.
Thermal Performance
One of the biggest concerns users have is heating, especially with powerful processors. Based on testing:
- Maximum temperature recorded: 36°C
- Typical gaming temperature: 35–36°C
- Temperature spikes: minimal (around +1°C)
These temperatures are well within safe limits and indicate good thermal optimization. Even during extended gaming sessions, the phone remains comfortable to hold.
Real-World Gaming Experience
In practical gameplay, the phone delivers a stable experience with smooth frame pacing. While occasional FPS drops occur during intense scenes or when in-game cutscenes load, overall gameplay remains fluid.

Key observations:
- Stable performance in HDR and high frame rate settings
- Minimal heating even during long sessions
- No noticeable thermal throttling
- Touch response remains accurate and lag-free
The FPS graph shows consistent frame delivery with minor dips during heavy rendering moments, which is normal even for flagship devices.
Casual & Heavy Gaming
- Casual games: run flawlessly with zero lag
- Competitive shooters: stable and responsive
- Long gaming sessions: no overheating issues
The Dimensity 9500 proves to be efficient, balancing performance and power consumption effectively.
Battery Life and Charging
Battery performance is strong.
- Normal usage: Full-day battery life
- Heavy usage: 8–9 hours screen-on time
- Charging time: Approximately 70–80 minutes
The phone offers reliable endurance and fast charging suitable for daily use.
Final Verdict
The Vivo X300 5G is a solid flagship smartphone with excellent cameras, reliable performance, and a premium design. While minor issues such as slight skin smoothing, occasional camera fogging, and the lack of anti-reflective display coating exist, none are deal-breakers.
With future software updates, camera processing could improve further. Overall, the Vivo X300 5G stands out as a dependable device for users who prioritize photography, display quality, and smooth performance.
