The realme P4 Pro launched in India back in August this year, bringing some impressive upgrades to the company’s Pioneer series. The biggest highlights include the world’s first Hyper Vision AI Chip, a massive 7,000mAh battery, and a smooth 144Hz display. Aside from these, the device also carries the latest AI-driven features that are currently trending across the industry.
The Pioneer series has always stood out as a strong lineup alongside realme’s popular Number series, and the P4 Pro continues that momentum.
In terms of pricing, the base model with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at ₹24,999, while the top-end 256GB variant costs ₹26,999. With ongoing bank offers, buyers can get the device for as low as ₹22,499, making it a solid deal for its feature set.
30 days but No scratches on the back
The realme P4 Pro also stands out as the slimmest device in its segment, delivering a lightweight feel that makes it comfortable to hold even without an external back cover. The overall build quality is solid, though not quite at the very top tier.
One of the most interesting aspects is the Dark Oak Wood color option, which has been designed to give users the impression of actually holding a piece of wood in their hands. The patterns and color palettes are crafted with this illusion in mind, adding a premium and unique touch to the device’s design.
Having used the realme P4 Pro for over 30 days, the device still shows no scratches on the back, which is a big thumbs-up to realme’s design and craftsmanship team. The durability of the rear panel feels reassuring for long-term use.
However, the camera module does tend to gather some dust and dirt over time, which can be a minor annoyance. I’ll talk about the camera performance and overall module experience next.

A Dusty Camera Problem?
The rectangular-shaped camera compartment follows the current trend that many brands seem to believe users like. Personally, I’m not a fan of this design choice. The reason is simple — the camera area tends to attract a lot of dust, not just around the circular lenses but across the entire rectangular frame, and the dust often stays there unless cleaned frequently.
Additionally, the large circular lenses inside the module feel quite bulky and stick out noticeably, which can sometimes make the phone’s look feel a bit cheap, despite it being a realme Pioneer series device.

HyperGlow 4D+ Curve Display is the perfect choice
The realme P4 Pro 5G features a stunning 144Hz HyperGlow 4D Curve+ Display, and in my experience, it truly deserves a 10/10 rating when it comes to visual quality. The display is crisp, vibrant, and definitely among the best in its segment.
That said, there are rare moments where the 6,500 nits peak brightness comes into question. For example, during direct sunlight usage, the phone tends to heat up quickly, which is becoming a common issue even for flagship devices.
In terms of gaming, while the switch from 120Hz to 144Hz refresh rate is technically impressive, the difference is hardly noticeable in real-world use. This makes the 144Hz refresh rate feel a bit like a gimmick, though it ultimately depends on how sensitive a user is to such changes
When 7000mAh Doesn’t Feel Like 7000!
Now, let’s talk about the real deal — the battery. While realme officially claims the P4 Pro 5G is powered by a 7,000mAh unit, the actual capacity sits at 6,830mAh. More importantly, in real-world usage, it often feels closer to a 5,500mAh battery.
This is perhaps the biggest setback of the device. The battery tends to drain too quickly, and an average Screen-on-Time (SOT) of just 3–5 hours is simply not acceptable from a phone marketed as a battery powerhouse.
Spending ₹25,000 on a smartphone that promises endurance but delivers average longevity can feel quite disappointing, especially for a first-time buyer expecting true long-lasting performance.

Top-notch benchmark numbers, credit to Hyper Vision AI Graphic Chip
The realme P4 Pro 5G (RMX5116) delivers flagship-level performance on paper and largely lives up to it in real-world testing. Here’s how it performs across key benchmarks:
Stress testing shows the phone can get hot under continuous heavy load, hitting around 61.5°C. The performance graph indicates noticeable dips as the system throttles to manage heat. However, the Throttling Test Summary reports only about 5% overall throttling, which is actually quite impressive for such intense workloads.
Storage Speed: Read – 1279 MB/s, Write – 427 MB/s. Apps open quickly, and file transfers are smooth thanks to fast UFS storage.
AnTuTu Score: 986,933 (CPU – 419K, GPU – 59K, Memory – 210K, UX – 298K). This puts the phone in the high mid-range to flagship class.

the realme P4 Pro 5G offers top-notch benchmark numbers, smooth UI performance, and fast storage. While thermal management could have been better during prolonged gaming or stress tests, the overall performance stability is still commendable for its price segment.
AI camera features needs improvement
The realme P4 series brings some notable AI upgrades, though results are mixed.
The AI Edit Genie works differently than expected. For example, when asked to remove an object from a photo, it sometimes removes the entire object along with surrounding details, leaving shadows behind — not always precise.
Other AI tools, like AI Landscape, Circle to Search, Glare Remover, and AI Eraser, perform fairly well. They’re useful and add convenience, but they aren’t flawless and still have room for improvement.

Classic low light shots
The realme P4 Pro 5G delivers decent low-light photography, capturing good detail and color in moderately dark conditions. While it may not match the flagship-level night photography of higher-end devices, the AI enhancements help reduce noise and slightly brighten shadows, producing usable and visually pleasing shots.
However, extreme low-light scenarios can still show graininess and minor loss of detail, so it’s best suited for casual night-time photography rather than professional-level low-light work.

Final Verdict
If you prioritize design, display quality, and fast performance, the P4 Pro 5G is a solid pick. However, if battery endurance and flawless camera operation are critical for you, there may be better alternatives in this price range.
