Samsung is gearing up to launch its next-generation smartwatch — the Galaxy Watch8 series — in early July, sharing the stage with the much-anticipated Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7. According to recent leaks, Samsung plans to reuse the Exynos W1000 chipset, introduced last year, for this new wearable lineup.

The Exynos W1000 continues to stand out in the smartwatch space. It boasts a five-core CPU configuration comprising four ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 1.5 GHz and a high-performance Cortex-A78 core running at 1.6 GHz. The GPU is a Mali-G68 MP2, paired with fast LPDDR5 RAM, and the chip is built using Samsung’s efficient 3nm GAA process — making it both powerful and energy-efficient.

In a nostalgic twist, the Galaxy Watch8 Classic will mark the return of the “Classic” model. Leaked renders reveal a fresh take on the design, showcasing a hybrid squared-round housing reminiscent of the rugged Galaxy Watch Ultra, suggesting a more unified form factor across models. Both the standard Watch8 and Classic variant are expected to share this redesigned exterior.

The Galaxy Watch8 Classic is rumored to come in 46/47mm sizes with a 1.5-inch display, housed in a chassis measuring 46 x 46.5 x 14.2 mm. Powering it will likely be a 450 mAh battery, and it’s anticipated to run on One UI 8 Watch based on Wear OS 6 providing users with refined software and extended battery performance.

With Samsung revisiting the Classic model and integrating high-performance internals, the Galaxy Watch8 series is shaping up to be a compelling upgrade. Stay tuned for the official unveiling alongside the brand’s next-gen foldables.
