Sony India has launched the FX2 Full-Frame Cinema Line camera, a compact yet powerful hybrid camera designed for filmmakers, independent videographers, students, and content creators. With its advanced imaging technology and professional-grade colour science, the FX2 aims to bring cinematic storytelling to a wider audience in a lightweight and ergonomic design.
The Sony FX2 is powered by a 33.0MP full-frame back-illuminated CMOS sensor and the BIONZ XR image processor with an integrated AI processing unit. It offers a dynamic range of over 15 stops, dual base ISO (800/4000), and expandable sensitivity up to ISO 102400. Filmmakers can capture QFHD 4K at up to 60fps and Full HD at up to 120fps, with 4K 4:2:2 10-bit internal recording for professional-grade output.
The FX2 comes with support for up to 16 user LUTs, Sony S-Cinetone™ colour science (from the flagship VENICE cameras), and a Log Shooting Mode that allows extraction of 33MP still images directly from video. It also features a tiltable high-definition EVF for flexible shooting angles.
One of the highlights is the BIG6 (Home) Screen interface, which consolidates six key shooting parameters – frame rate, ISO, shutter, aperture/ND, Look presets, and white balance – into a single page. This interface simplifies workflow for solo creators and professional crews alike, ensuring faster adjustments during shoots.
The design takes inspiration from the Sony FX3 and FX30, with a compact form factor and ergonomic button layout.
