Samsung has reportedly revived the Galaxy S26+ project after shelving it earlier this year, following disappointing market performance of the Galaxy S25 Edge. citing Korean publication The Elec, says the project has been relaunched under the internal codename “M Plus,” which corresponds to the Galaxy S26+ model.

Earlier plans for the Galaxy S26 flagship family included three projects: “M1” (Galaxy S26 Standard / S26 Pro), “M2” (Galaxy S26 Edge), and “M3” (Galaxy S26 Ultra). At the time, Samsung had considered replacing the Plus model with an Edge variant. However, lacklustre sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge have prompted a strategic rethink.

Industry sources indicate production of the S25 Edge has fallen sharply since June 2025, with roughly 300,000 units produced over the last four months — down from about 500,000 units for the S25+ during the same period. That shortfall reportedly influenced Samsung’s decision to bring back the Plus model, as abandoning it could have harmed the profitability of the mobile division.

Reviving the Galaxy S26+ suggests Samsung will re-evaluate its 2026 flagship strategy, likely balancing Edge, Plus, and Ultra models to better meet market demand. More information on specifications, pricing, and launch timing is expected to surface in the coming months. Stay updated with the latest on Samsung’s flagship plans at PassionateGeekz.
