Samsung is getting closer to launching its first tri-fold smartphone after showcasing the concept at the APEC CEO Summit in October. The device, often referred to as the Galaxy Z TriFold, has been spotted across multiple certification platforms, including Bluetooth SIG, IMDA, and China’s 3C listings, confirming its progress toward market release.
A new report from a Korean publication claims that Samsung is planning to unveil the tri-fold device on 5 December 2025. According to the report, the company is currently preparing a public launch event where the tri-fold model will finally be introduced.
The upcoming Galaxy Z TriFold is expected to feature a 6.5-inch outer screen and a 10-inch inner display. When folded, the device reportedly measures 4.2mm in thickness, while the unfolded form reaches 14mm. Powering the smartphone is said to be a 5600mAh battery, designed to support the larger dual-display setup.
The device is expected to be priced around 3000 dollars, placing it in the ultra-premium category. Samsung is believed to have modest shipment targets between 20,000 and 30,000 units. Rather than chasing high sales volume, the company aims to demonstrate its technological leadership with a refined tri-fold form factor and evaluate customer interest in this new category.
The Galaxy Z TriFold has the potential to expand Samsung’s foldable portfolio beyond the traditional book-style and flip designs, offering a more versatile display experience for productivity and entertainment. More details, including complete specifications and regional availability, are expected to be shared during the official unveiling.
