Oppo has officially confirmed that ColorOS 16 will be launched at an event in Shenzhen on October 15, 2025. The announcement, shared on the company’s official website, also revealed that the Oppo Developer Conference (ODC) will be held on the same day, bringing together developers, enthusiasts, and industry experts.

At the event, Oppo plans to showcase its latest AI strategy while offering in-depth sessions on ColorOS 16. According to the company, the conference will include ten sub-forums, six exhibition zones, and an interactive “inspirational street” designed to highlight Oppo’s approach to innovation in software and design.

ColorOS 16 Design Direction: The company’s official preview indicates that the new OS takes inspiration from Apple’s iOS 26 liquid glass design. While Apple’s version has drawn criticism for readability concerns, Oppo’s take on the concept could bring a fresh interpretation for Android users.

The Oppo Find X9 and Find X9 Pro will be the first smartphones to launch with ColorOS 16. These models will also feature the powerful Dimensity 9500 chipset and introduce the world’s first 1-nit display designed for advanced eye protection. Oppo has integrated its self-developed P3 display chip, enabling a flicker-free panel with 3840Hz PWM dimming, a 6900K default eye protection color temperature, and TÜV Rheinland plus SGS certification for safety and comfort.

Following the OS debut, Oppo will officially launch the Find X9 series in China on October 16. A global launch is expected to follow on October 28, expanding availability to international markets.
