POCO could soon expand its X-series smartphone lineup with the launch of the standard POCO X8. While the company has already introduced the POCO X8 Pro and POCO X8 Pro Max, the vanilla model was believed to have been cancelled. However, a new leak suggests that the smartphone is still in development.

According to a recent leak, the POCO X8 has been spotted in HyperOS source code. The discovery hints that Xiaomi is actively working on the device and that an official launch may not be too far away.
The leak also reveals that the POCO X8 is expected to feature a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary camera. Reports suggest that the phone could be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 17 Pro launched in China, as both devices reportedly share the same rear camera configuration.
- 6.83-inch AMOLED display
- 1.5K resolution
- 120Hz refresh rate
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor
- 50MP primary rear camera
- 2MP secondary camera
- 8MP front camera
- 67W fast charging support
- 22.5W reverse wired charging
One of the biggest highlights of the upcoming smartphone could be its battery. Reports indicate that the Indian variant may pack a massive 9,000mAh battery, while the global version could feature an 8,340mAh battery. However, it is still unclear whether POCO will launch separate Indian and global variants with different battery capacities.
If these details turn out to be accurate, the POCO X8 could become one of the smartphones with the largest battery in its segment. Combined with Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 and 67W fast charging, the device may appeal to users looking for long battery life without sacrificing everyday performance.
As of now, POCO has not officially confirmed the existence of the smartphone or its launch timeline. Since the information is based on leaks and code references, readers should treat the details with caution until the company makes an official announcement.
