Samsung has officially launched the beta version of One UI 8, its custom Android 16-based interface, for select Galaxy devices. This early release is now available to Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra users in the U.S., UK, Germany, and South Korea. Surprisingly, the recently introduced Galaxy S25 Edge is not included in this initial rollout.
While Samsung emphasizes the addition of AI-powered enhancements, the specifics remain under wraps. The company highlighted improved multimodal AI capabilities and more personalization features, but provided limited detail. Notably, AI Select now operates instantly, resolving previous startup delays and boosting overall speed and responsiveness.
Optimized for various Galaxy form factors, One UI 8 aligns with Google’s Android 16 push to enhance performance across tablets and foldables. Among the standout features is a new split-screen multitasking tool, enabling users to dock one app at the edge of the screen while interacting with another—an interface reminiscent of the OnePlus Open’s multitasking functionality.

- Auracast support, a new Android 16 accessibility tool that enables hearing aids and compatible devices—such as the Galaxy Buds 3—to connect to shared audio sources like public announcements or live event streams
Users can access the beta through the Samsung Members app, with the final version of One UI 8 expected to debut this summer, alongside the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Flip 7.
