Ai+ is preparing another smartphone for the Indian market, and this time, the company appears to be adding a new member to its growing Nova 2 lineup.

PassionateGeekz has exclusively spotted the upcoming Ai+ Nova 2 Power 5G with model number APM501 on the IMEI database. The same model has also appeared on Geekbench, giving us our first look at some of its key hardware details.

The name itself makes this device interesting. The “Power” branding strongly hints at a smartphone focused on battery life and endurance. While the exact battery capacity is not known yet, Ai+ could be preparing one of its biggest-battery smartphones in this segment.

Geekbench Reveals Dimensity 7100 5G Chip

The Ai+ APM501 has also appeared on Geekbench 6.7.1 for Android. The smartphone scored 949 points in the single-core test and 2,620 points in the multi-core test.

The benchmark listing shows the phone running Android 16 with 5.41GB of memory, which points towards a device with at least 6GB of RAM in one of its configurations.

The chipset is listed as MediaTek MT6858. The processor has an octa-core configuration with four cores clocked at 2.00GHz and four cores reaching 2.40GHz. This points towards the Dimensity 7100 platform.

“Power” Could Mean a Bigger Battery

The most interesting part of this device is its name.

Ai+ has already been focusing on large batteries with some of its smartphones. The Nova 2 Power 5G could take that approach further.

The “Power” branding suggests that battery life could be one of the main selling points of the new smartphone. We would not be surprised to see a battery larger than 6,000mAh, although the exact capacity is still unknown.

For now, any claims about a 7,000mAh or 8,000mAh battery should be treated as speculation. Ai+ has not confirmed the battery size yet.

Where Will It Fit in the Nova 2 Series?

Ai+ has been expanding the Nova 2 family with multiple models, including the Nova 2 Neo, Nova 2 Pro and Nova 2 Ultra.

The upcoming Nova 2 Power 5G could sit alongside these models with a slightly different focus. Instead of simply offering another performance-focused variant, Ai+ appears to be targeting users who want strong battery life without giving up 5G connectivity and everyday performance.

The use of the Dimensity 7100 platform would also give the phone enough performance for everyday apps, gaming and multitasking while keeping it within the competitive mid-range segment.

What to Expect From Ai+ Nova 2 Power 5G

  • MediaTek Dimensity 7100-class chipset
  • Android 16
  • 5G connectivity
  • Large battery, potentially above 6,000mAh
  • Fast charging
  • At least 6GB RAM in one configuration
  • Multiple RAM and storage variants
  • Display aimed at the affordable 5G segment
  • Nova 2 family design language

These specifications are based on the current Geekbench and IMEI information, along with the positioning suggested by the device name. More details are expected to surface ahead of the official launch.

Ai+ Nova 2 Power 5G India Launch

There is no official launch date or pricing information yet. However, the appearance of the APM501 on the IMEI database, along with its Geekbench listing, suggests that development and testing are already underway.

The Indian launch now looks highly likely, although Ai+ is yet to make any official announcement.

Pricing will be particularly interesting. If Ai+ combines the Dimensity 7100, Android 16 and a very large battery at an aggressive price, the Nova 2 Power 5G could become a strong option in the budget and mid-range 5G market.

Our Take

The Ai+ Nova 2 Power 5G is shaping up to be an interesting addition to the Nova 2 family.

The combination of the “Power” name, Dimensity 7100-class chipset and the possibility of a larger battery gives the phone a clear identity. Ai+ does not appear to be simply adding another Nova 2 variant; the company could be building a device around battery life while maintaining solid everyday performance.

For now, we can confirm that the Ai+ Nova 2 Power 5G exists, carries model number APM501, has appeared on the IMEI database and has been tested on Geekbench.

We will continue tracking the device for more information on its battery, charging, display, cameras, variants, pricing and launch date.

What do you expect from the Ai+ Nova 2 Power 5G? A massive battery or a more performance-focused Nova 2? Let us know in the comments.
