Apple’s legacy of sleek and compact computing finds a nostalgic twist in the Pico Mac Nano, a miniature Macintosh replica that’s even smaller than a soda can. Designed by Nick Gillard, the Pico Mac Nano is just 2.5 inches tall (62mm) and recreates the original Macintosh 128K in both form and functionality—down to the classic beige box aesthetic.
This charming piece of retro tech features a 2-inch TFT display, USB-A port, and SD card slot (though not located in the front like a classic floppy drive). A custom breakout cable powers the device and offers an additional USB-A port for keyboard or mouse input.
Under the hood, the Pico Mac Nano runs an emulated version of System 3.2 using a Pico Micro Mac board, a tiny but powerful emulator crafted onto a custom PCB. The enclosure, made with 3D printing, is a loving homage to Apple’s earliest desktop designs—perfect for collectors and vintage tech enthusiasts.

Collector’s Delight: Pricing and Availability
Demand has surged so high that Gillard has temporarily halted new orders to manage production. When sales resume, two versions will be available:
- Collector’s Edition: Fully assembled with custom retro packaging, priced at £78 (~HK$609)
- DIY Edition: Unassembled version for enthusiasts, priced at £56 (~HK$436)
Additionally, individual components will be available for those who want to build their own Pico Mac Nano from scratch.
For fans of vintage Apple hardware or DIY tech builds, this tiny Macintosh packs a nostalgic punch. Interested buyers can sign up for restock alerts and be among the first to order when the next batch becomes available.
