Xiaomi is ready to make a big statement in the foldable smartphone market. The company has officially revealed the Xiaomi 18 Fold, with the new foldable set to launch in China on September 7.

And Xiaomi is not holding back. The Xiaomi 18 Fold combines a large 7.58-inch internal display, a 5.38-inch external screen, the new XRING O3 flagship chipset, a 200MP Leica camera and a massive 6000mAh battery.

The phone uses Xiaomi’s new mid-fold design, giving users a large screen when the device is opened while keeping the outer display compact enough for everyday use. The 7.58-inch internal screen should be ideal for watching content, multitasking, gaming and productivity, while the 5.38-inch external display handles quick tasks when the phone is closed.
The camera system is one of the biggest highlights of the Xiaomi 18 Fold. Xiaomi has equipped the phone with a 200MP Leica main camera featuring a 1/1.56-inch sensor, optical image stabilization and a fast f/1.7 aperture.
The main camera is joined by a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 17mm focal length and a 50MP W-shaped periscope telephoto camera offering 3.5x optical zoom at 80mm. The complete setup covers 17mm, 23mm and 80mm focal lengths, giving the foldable a strong range for everyday photography and zoom shots.
Xiaomi is also bringing Leica Summilux lens technology to the 18 Fold, making photography a major part of the phone’s flagship experience.
Performance is another area where the Xiaomi 18 Fold looks seriously impressive. The phone comes with the new XRING O3 platform, featuring a deca-core CPU and a 16-core Mali G2 Ultra NX GPU.
The device also supports LPDDR6 RAM with bandwidth reaching 113.8GB/s, using memory from CXMT. Xiaomi claims performance exceeding 5 million points on AnTuTu, putting the 18 Fold firmly in flagship territory.
The battery is equally impressive. Xiaomi has officially revealed a 6000mAh Jinshajiang battery with 20% ultra-high silicon content and energy density of up to 920Wh/L.
Charging is handled by 67W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. For a foldable with such a large internal display, the combination of high capacity and wireless charging makes the package even more exciting.
Xiaomi is also giving the hinge and body a major upgrade. The 18 Fold uses a new-generation Xiaomi Dragon Bone Hinge with a three-stage linkage structure and full-fit protection.

The phone also features new double-layer UTG ultra-thin glass, while Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0 is used on the front and back. The middle frame is made from aerospace-grade 7-series aluminum alloy.
Xiaomi says the durability of the new foldable is designed to be comparable to flagship candybar smartphones, which is an important step for users who want a foldable without compromising on reliability.
On the software side, the Xiaomi 18 Fold will run HyperOS 4 and introduce the new Super Xiao Ai 2.0. Xiaomi is also bringing its MiMo on-device large model to the device, adding more AI-powered capabilities directly on the phone.
With the September 7 launch now officially confirmed, Xiaomi 18 Fold is shaping up to be one of the company’s most ambitious foldables yet. A 200MP Leica camera, XRING O3 chipset, LPDDR6 RAM, 6000mAh battery, 50W wireless charging and a 7.58-inch folding display make this a seriously loaded flagship.
The Xiaomi 18 Fold will officially launch in China on September 7, and it looks like Xiaomi is bringing some serious heat to the foldable smartphone market.
