GTA 6 continues to dominate the gaming world, and Rockstar Games has another huge reason to celebrate. Netflix has revealed that its latest GTA 6 video, “A Glimpse of Substance,” attracted 31.1 million views during the week ending August 30.

The video topped Netflix’s viewing charts in 87 markets, covering 93 countries and regions. This shows just how much attention the upcoming Grand Theft Auto game is receiving even before its official launch.

Rockstar Games also uploaded the same video to YouTube around six hours after its Netflix release. On Rockstar’s official YouTube channel, the video has already crossed 17 million views.

However, these numbers cannot be directly compared because Netflix and YouTube count views in very different ways.

YouTube introduced a new view-counting system on August 24. Under the new system, a view can be counted as soon as a user starts playing a video. This means even a viewer who watches only around 10 seconds before leaving can contribute to the view count.

Netflix uses a different system. It calculates views using total viewing time divided by the video’s running time. For example, if two people each watch half of a video, Netflix could count that combined viewing time as one complete view.

Because of these different methods, the performance of “A Glimpse of Substance” cannot be fairly compared with earlier GTA 6 trailers.

The first GTA 6 trailer collected 93 million views on YouTube within its first day. The second trailer has now passed 181 million views on YouTube. Rockstar previously said the second trailer generated more than 475 million views across all platforms in its first 24 hours, although the company did not explain exactly which platforms were included in that figure.

Despite the different counting systems, the latest numbers make one thing clear: GTA 6 remains one of the most anticipated games in the world.

GTA 6 is currently scheduled to launch on November 19. The game will be available in both digital and physical formats. However, the physical edition will reportedly not contain a game disc. Instead, buyers will receive a boxed redemption code.

The standard edition is priced at $80, while the Ultimate Edition costs $100 and comes with additional in-game rewards. Players who buy the standard version will also have the option to upgrade to the Ultimate Edition later.

With millions of viewers already watching every new GTA 6 video, Rockstar appears to have another massive hit waiting for launch day. The real question now is how big the game’s opening numbers will be when GTA 6 finally arrives.
