A new leak from the well-known tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that a Xiaomi subsidiary is actively testing four 7-inch phones with batteries larger than 10,000mAh. Based on the tipster’s track record, these devices are expected to fall under the REDMI brand.

One of the models is described as a 2nm flagship. All four are expected to appear in the first half of 2027. An earlier leak from the same source mentioned a 7-inch 2K high-refresh-rate display with LIPO equal-bezel technology, positioned as a “seven-inch large flagship.”
Context from recent REDMI phones
The current REDMI K100 series, released in August 2026, already pushed battery size. The Pro Max model carries a 9,070mAh battery inside a 6.9-inch body. Moving to a full 7-inch screen with over 10,000mAh would continue the trend of maximising capacity for users who prioritise all-day use.
Other flagships currently on the market, including models from Xiaomi, Huawei and Apple, have settled around 6.9 inches for their largest variants. A genuine 7-inch REDMI would stand out for buyers who want even more screen real estate.
Why this matters to Passionategeekz readers
Battery life remains one of the top purchase factors for many Indian buyers. REDMI has built a reputation for packing large batteries at competitive prices. If these 7-inch models materialise with 10,000mAh-class cells, they could appeal to heavy users who stream, game or work on their phones all day without frequent charging.
The 2nm flagship mention also suggests Xiaomi is preparing high-end silicon for the REDMI line rather than reserving the newest process nodes only for the Xiaomi-branded Ultra models.

Passionategeekz Take
Large batteries have been REDMI’s practical advantage for years. Combining that strength with a true 7-inch screen and next-generation chips could create a distinctive product for 2027. These are still early engineering leaks, so specifications can change. For now they signal that Xiaomi is serious about pushing screen size and battery capacity further in its value-focused brand. We will track official developments as they appear.
