Realme is set to kick off its first smartphone launch of the year in India with the Realme 16 Pro and Realme 16 Pro+, both part of its popular number series targeting the mid-range segment. The launch is scheduled for January 6 at 12 pm, with availability confirmed via Flipkart and Realme India’s official online store.
The Realme 16 Pro series introduces a refreshed “Urban Wild” design, moving away from the traditional square camera module. The lineup continues Realme’s design-first approach with a collaboration involving Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa. Color options include Master Gold and Master Grey for the Pro+, while the standard Pro adds Orchid Purple and Pebble Grey to the mix.
The Realme 16 Pro+ is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset and packs a massive 7,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging. Camera highlights include a 200MP primary sensor and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, giving it an edge in zoom photography within its segment. The phone also features a curved display with up to 6,500 nits peak brightness and carries multiple IP ratings including IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K.
The Realme 16 Pro offers similar core features at a lower price point, including a 200MP main camera, a 7,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging, and a high-brightness display. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max chipset and includes the same durability ratings and audio enhancements.
Both models run Realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16 out of the box, with Realme promising three Android OS updates and four years of security patches. Leaks suggest the Realme 16 Pro could start at Rs 31,999, while the Realme 16 Pro+ may begin around Rs 39,999, keeping the series in line with Realme’s traditional pricing strategy.
