Pova AI Buds Pro Review: Stylish, Smart and Built for Productivity

POVA AI Buds Pro was launched in India at ₹14,999, bringing AI-powered features to the premium TWS segment. It went on sale from August 22 via Amazon India and Flipkart, with an introductory effective price of ₹12,499. With AI recording, transcription, meeting summaries, real-time translation, 48dB Hybrid ANC and up to 40 hours of battery life, the POVA AI Buds Pro aimed to be more than just another pair of earbuds. Here’s our review.

This review is based on my experience using the POVA AI Buds Pro as my daily driver. Instead of focusing on the unboxing or simply listing its features, I’ve used the earbuds in real-life situations from home and office commutes to daily travel to see how they perform when you actually rely on them every day.

The build quality feels decent, but it doesn’t quite have that top-notch premium feel. On the plus side, the earbuds are easy to hold and offer a comfortable grip. The case has a fully opaque matte finish, with no transparent elements. It also catches a noticeable shine when exposed to bright sunlight, giving it a slightly different look outdoors.

While most earbuds cases simply open with a lid, the POVA AI Buds Pro uses a sliding mechanism with a hinge. It certainly makes the case look different and can catch attention, but in my daily use, I felt this mechanism was more of a design gimmick than something that adds real value. Personally, I still prefer the traditional opening-style case—it feels simpler, quicker, and more natural to use.

Going forward, the earbuds themselves are where the POVA AI Buds Pro really shine, and this is something that shouldn’t go unnoticed. They feature an 8-microphone setup, which helps with clearer calls and makes the AI features feel more seamless in everyday use.

The glossy finish on the earbuds is also a nice touch and adds a premium feel. More importantly, they fit comfortably in my ears and stayed in place during daily use. You also get different-sized ear tips, so you can switch to the one that feels most comfortable for you.

If you’re still unsure about the fit, the POVA AI app has a handy Fit Check feature that helps you see whether the earbuds are sitting properly in your ears. This is one of those small but genuinely useful features that I think deserves more attention.

The real center of attraction, though, is the case’s lighting effect. When the earbuds are in Bluetooth pairing mode or searching for a device, the case shows a unique “breathing” effect, with both the L and R sides lighting up and fading smoothly. It’s a small detail, but it definitely adds a wow factor and makes the case feel more interesting.

I only wish POVA had added some customization options here. Being able to change the breathing-light colors or choose different lighting effects through the POVA AI app would have made the case feel even more classy and personal. Unfortunately, there are no such options available either on the case or in the app.

Now, coming to the pinch controls, which can be found under Gesture Control in the POVA AI app, this is one area I wasn’t completely happy with. While most premium earbuds let you swipe up or down to adjust the volume or double-tap to change tracks, the POVA AI Buds Pro uses a pinch-based control system.

The controls work as expected, but finding the right spot to pinch while wearing the earbuds can feel a little uncomfortable and less natural, especially when you’re on the move. Your experience may be different, but for me, the pinch controls don’t feel as convenient as traditional touch or swipe gestures.

AI Features for Meetings and Quick Notes

Now, coming to the meeting and AI features, to be very frank, this is one of the most useful parts of the POVA AI Buds Pro. It can be especially handy for online classes, work meetings, or those long discussions where it’s easy to lose track of important points.

The built-in storage makes things even more useful. There’s a dedicated red button on the case, and with a single press, you can start recording instantly. Once the recording is done, you can access it through the POVA AI app, where you can translate the audio, create a quick summary, or turn it into notes.

For short meetings and quick recordings, this feature is genuinely useful and feels practical in everyday life. You can record for up to 4 hours, but there is a catch: after reaching the supported limit, you’ll need to make an in-app purchase if you want to record more. So, for occasional or shorter meetings, it’s great; but if you plan to use it regularly for long meetings, be prepared to spend a little extra.

At ₹14,999, I feel wireless charging pad should have been included in box, especially when these earbuds already pack multiple-device connectivity, noise control and several other premium features. Unfortunately, wireless charging pad isn’t available, so if you already have a compatible charging pad you can charge it, works with any wireless charging pad if dont own one you can continue the to charge your POVA AI Buds Pro through the USB Type-C port.

In my daily use, I managed to get around 30 hours of usage before the battery was completely drained. For regular everyday use, that’s a decent backup and should comfortably get you through several days depending on your usage.
