Nothing has started rolling out its stable Nothing OS 5.0 update based on Android 17 to four of its popular mid-range smartphones ahead of schedule. Owners of the Nothing Phone (3a), Phone (3a) Pro, Phone (4a), and Phone (4a) Pro are now receiving the update globally, beating Nothing’s original early-November target.

New Creator Features and AI Privacy Indicator
Following the stable rollout for the flagship Nothing Phone (3) earlier in October, this expansion brings several useful upgrades to the 3a and 4a lineups. Content creators get a new Dual-view Video mode that records video from both the front and rear cameras at the exact same time. Nothing has also added a new yellow AI Processing status indicator on the screen whenever the phone is handling sensitive artificial intelligence data.

Users can check for the update manually by opening Settings and tapping System Updates. Nothing confirmed that the Phone (2a) and Phone (2a) Plus are scheduled to receive their Android 17 update next in mid-November.
