Nothing has officially started teasing its next-generation flagship earbuds, the Nothing Ear (3), which will succeed last year’s model. This marks a return to the company’s original numbering system after shifting briefly to simplified naming with the Ear and Ear (2).

Explaining the decision, Andrew, Head of Global Smart Products Marketing at Nothing, said the brand wanted to avoid confusion. “Skipping ahead to Ear (4) would only create confusion, especially for new customers, so we landed on the solution that brings the most clarity and consistency,” he noted.
The Ear (3) is rumored to introduce a major hardware upgrade with a dual-driver system, a feature commonly found in high-end True Wireless Stereo earbuds. Users can also expect improved Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), a more natural transparency mode, and longer battery life compared to its predecessor.
Staying true to its design identity, Nothing is likely to maintain the brand’s signature transparent look for both the earbuds and the charging case. Additionally, a much-requested feature—swipe-based volume controls on the earbuds—could finally make its debut with this model.
The official launch of the Nothing Ear (3) is expected around late September or early October 2025. More details about specifications and pricing are expected to surface in the coming weeks. For the latest updates on Nothing and other audio innovations, visit PassionateGeekz.
