POCO has introduced the X8s in selected international markets, adding a compact option to its smartphone lineup. The phone combines a 6.35-inch AMOLED display with a Snapdragon processor, a large battery and a rear camera system that includes a dedicated telephoto lens.
The device is currently reported as available in Vietnam. Its pricing and availability should not be confused with an Indian launch, which has not been confirmed.

A smaller display with a sharp picture
The POCO X8s has a 6.35-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,220 × 2,656 pixels. It supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, giving it a smooth scrolling and gaming experience when apps support higher refresh rates.
The screen is smaller than the displays found on many modern phones. That could make the device easier to handle for people who prefer a compact design, although one-handed comfort also depends on the phone’s width, thickness and weight.
POCO lists peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. Peak brightness figures are usually measured under specific conditions, so actual brightness can vary across the screen and between different content types.
The phone also carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. This offers protection under defined test conditions, but it does not make the device immune to all water-related damage.
Snapdragon performance and battery capacity
The POCO X8s uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, built on a 4nm process. It is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage in the top configuration.
The chipset is intended to handle daily apps, multitasking and demanding games. Actual performance will depend on the software, thermal management and the settings used in each game.
A 6,330mAh battery powers the device. That is a large capacity for a phone with a 6.35-inch display, and it may help users get through a full day without charging. Real battery life will still depend on brightness, network conditions, gaming and background activity.
The phone runs Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Software support, update timing and feature availability can vary by region, so buyers should check the local product listing before purchasing.
Triple rear cameras include a telephoto lens
The rear camera system includes a 50MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. A 32MP front camera handles selfies and video calls.
The telephoto camera is an important feature because it uses optical magnification rather than relying only on digital cropping. This can help preserve detail when photographing distant subjects.
The main and ultra-wide cameras provide options for everyday photos, landscapes and group shots. However, the megapixel count alone does not show how well the cameras perform. Low-light samples, stabilisation and image processing will be important factors in a full review.
Price and availability
In Vietnam, the POCO X8s is reported to cost VND 11.5 million for the 8GB/256GB model and VND 14 million for the 12GB/512GB version. The phone is offered in black, blue and white.
These are local-market prices. There is no confirmed Indian launch date or official Indian price in the information reviewed for this article.

Passionategeekz Take
The POCO X8s stands out because it combines a compact screen with a large battery and a dedicated telephoto camera. It could appeal to people who want a smaller phone without giving up useful camera features. The key questions are its real-world camera quality, battery endurance and whether POCO will bring it to India at a competitive price.
