Xiaomi is scheduled to begin the first stable HyperOS 4 rollout for selected existing devices on October 15. The update is part of the company’s plan to bring its latest software experience to more phones and tablets.
The first wave covers selected Xiaomi 17 series phones, REDMI K-series models, and Xiaomi Pad tablets. The rollout will happen in stages, so eligible devices may not receive the update at exactly the same time.

Which devices are included first?
The first scheduled group includes the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17.
Selected REDMI devices are also included. These are the REDMI K100 Pro Max, REDMI K100 Pro, REDMI K90 Pro Max, REDMI K90 Pro Max Champion Edition, and REDMI K90.
The tablet group includes the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro and Xiaomi Pad 8. These devices are scheduled to begin receiving the stable update from October 15.
This is the Chinese rollout schedule. Xiaomi’s Chinese release dates do not automatically confirm the same date for global or Indian models, even when they share a similar product name.
More devices will follow
Xiaomi plans to expand the rollout later in October. The next group is scheduled to include additional Xiaomi 17 models, REDMI K90 variants, and REDMI Turbo devices.
Further waves are planned for November and December, covering more Xiaomi and REDMI phones, tablets, televisions, and wearables. Older models are therefore expected to receive the update later than the newest devices.
A staged rollout helps a company monitor software quality before making an update available to a much larger number of users. If problems appear, the rollout can be adjusted while engineers work on a fix.
What should users do before installing?
Users should back up important photos, messages, and files before installing a major update. Keep the device charged, ensure enough storage is available, and use a reliable internet connection.
After installation, the phone may use extra power for a short period while it optimises apps and completes background tasks. This does not always mean there is a battery problem.

Passionategeekz Take
The start of the stable rollout is good news for owners waiting to move beyond beta software. The main thing to remember is that updates arrive in stages. Check the official update notice for your exact model and region before assuming the software is available.
