Tecno Camon 50 Ultra India Launch Set for July 17; 50MP Selfie Camera, 144Hz AMOLED Display Confirmed

Tecno has officially confirmed that the Tecno Camon 50 Ultra 5G will launch in India on July 17. The smartphone was first introduced in global markets earlier this year, and it is now making its way to Indian consumers with flagship-inspired features, including a 50MP selfie camera, a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, and a large battery.

The company has already listed the smartphone on its official website and Amazon India, confirming that the device will go on sale through the e-commerce platform after launch. Tecno will unveil the smartphone’s pricing and availability details during a launch event scheduled for 12 PM IST on July 17. The Camon 50 Ultra will be available in Nebula Titanium, Cypress Green, and Misty Purple colour options.

The Indian variant is expected to retain the same specifications as the global model. The smartphone features a premium Silk-Flow design and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate chipset, built on a 4nm process with clock speeds of up to 2.6GHz. It is also expected to include LPDDR5X RAM along with Extended RAM technology for smoother multitasking and improved performance. The device is likely to run Android 16 with HiOS 16 out of the box.

On the front, the Camon 50 Ultra sports a 6.78-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED display with a resolution of 1208 × 2644 pixels. The panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate, 2304Hz PWM dimming, and an impressive 4,500 nits peak brightness. Protection is provided by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, while ProXDR Eye-Care technology is expected to improve viewing comfort during extended usage.

Photography is one of the biggest highlights of the smartphone. The rear camera setup includes a 50MP Sony LYT700C primary sensor with OIS, paired with a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto camera and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. On the front, Tecno has equipped the device with a 50MP selfie camera, making it an attractive choice for selfie lovers, vloggers, and video calls.

Powering the smartphone is a 6,500mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. Like the global version, the Indian model is also expected to offer a five-year battery health guarantee. Despite the large battery, the phone maintains a slim profile with a thickness of just 7.75mm.
