Google Chrome update alert: India’s Top Cyber Security Organization, Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-in), has issued a high-free alert regarding the desktop version of Google Chrome. According to this advisory, many serious security flaws have been found in those versions of Chrome browser, which have not been updated further from version 137.0.7151.119/.120 and version 137.0.7151.119 on version 137.0.7151.119/.120 and Linux.

Taking advantage of these security weaknesses, cyber criminals can run dangerous codes on the user’s computer, crash the browser, or steal confidential information and it can be done only by going to a dangerous or compromised website. Because these attacks can be without any clear signal, users do not know until the significant data is lost.

Cert-in asked users to do this immediately
For the protection of your device, Cert-in urged users to install the latest stable version of Google’s Chrome browser immediately. The official patch is now available. According to Google’s recent update, version 137.0.7151.119/.120 for Windows and MACOS on stable channels for desktop has been released 137.0.0.7151.119 for Linux and will be rolled out slowly in the coming days or weeks.

Measures to stay safe
Update immediately: Update your Chrome browser to the latest stable version immediately so that the known weaknesses can be cured.

Turn on auto-update: Ensure that the automatic update settings of the Chrome are so that future safety improvements can be implemented immediately.
