Samsung’s next-generation foldable smartphones — the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 — are steadily taking shape ahead of their anticipated July unveiling. The latest leak comes from UL Demko certification listings, which shed light on the battery capacities of both upcoming devices.
According to the listings, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will likely carry forward the same 4,400mAh typical battery found in the Z Fold 6. The certification database details a dual-cell setup with rated capacities of 2,126mAh and 2,146mAh. While this offers consistency for power users, it also suggests Samsung may be prioritizing other improvements — such as form factor or processor efficiency — over raw battery expansion in the Fold model.
In contrast, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 appears to be getting a meaningful upgrade in battery life. The clamshell foldable is listed with cells rated at 1,189mAh and 2,985mAh, suggesting a combined typical capacity of 4,300mAh — up from the 4,000mAh battery in the Flip 6. This roughly 300mAh increase could provide much-needed endurance improvements, especially given the power demands of modern foldables.
Both handsets are believed to have entered the production phase, with global launches expected in early July 2025. While Samsung has yet to officially confirm any specifications, these leaks give us a clearer picture of what to expect.
In a market where foldables are evolving rapidly, even incremental improvements in battery life could be the differentiating factor Samsung needs to boost user satisfaction and sales. With battery performance often cited as a key weakness in foldable phones, especially clamshells, the Flip 7’s reported enhancement could help sway undecided buyers.
