Lava appears to be preparing another smartphone for the Indian market, and this time it could arrive under a different name. The upcoming Lava Virat 5G has now been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website with the model number LXX529, indicating that its India launch may not be far away.

Interestingly, this is the same model number (LXX529) that we exclusively reported earlier for the Lava Aura Curve 5G. The latest BIS certification strongly suggests that Lava Virat 5G and Lava Aura Curve 5G are the same smartphone, but with a different marketing name.

How We Connected the Dots
When we first reported the Lava Aura Curve 5G, the smartphone appeared in the IMEI database carrying the model number LXX529. Now, the exact same model number has surfaced on the BIS certification website, but without revealing the final commercial branding.

Based on both database listings, there is strong evidence that Lava may have decided to launch the device as Lava Virat 5G instead of Lava Aura Curve 5G.
Expected Specifications
Earlier benchmark listings have already revealed several key specifications of the smartphone.
- MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G chipset
- Curved display
- Android 16 out of the box
- 4GB RAM (tested variant)
- Premium mid-range positioning
The curved display would make it one of the few smartphones in its segment to offer a premium design while continuing Lava’s Curve series philosophy.
India Launch Could Be Around the Corner
With the Flipkart teaser now live and the BIS certification already completed, the Lava Virat 5G appears to be nearing its official India launch. Lava is expected to reveal additional specifications, launch date, and pricing over the coming days.
The official Lava Virat teaser perfectly aligns with our earlier exclusive findings. The identical LXX529 model number across the IMEI database and BIS certification strongly suggests that the smartphone previously known as the Lava Aura Curve 5G will officially arrive in the market as the Lava Virat 5G.
We’ll continue tracking the device as more official information becomes available.
BIS certification is generally one of the final regulatory approvals before a smartphone launches in India. Since the device has now appeared on the certification database, an official announcement could happen in the coming weeks.
The smartphone is expected to target buyers looking for a stylish design, reliable performance, and a clean Android experience in the mid-range segment.
Final Thoughts
If previous leaks are accurate, the smartphone could offer a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset, a curved display, and Android 16, making it an exciting addition to Lava’s growing premium smartphone lineup.
