Google is bringing several new customisation options from the Pixel Watch 5 to the older Pixel Watch 4. The update is rolling out through the Google Pixel Watch Faces app, allowing users to access newer designs without upgrading their smartwatch.
The update includes Weave, Chronograph, Multicolor Modular and Multicolor Reveal. The Stephen Curry watch face, originally introduced with a special edition of the Pixel Watch 5, is also reportedly available.
Another interesting addition is Google’s AI watch face generator, which reportedly arrives with the update. This could give users more ways to personalise their watch, although the exact availability of the feature may vary.
How to Get the New Watch Faces
Google is distributing the update through the Play Store rather than requiring users to install the app manually. The reported app version is 4.2.12.989940186.
Pixel Watch 4 owners can check the Google Pixel Watch Faces app in the Play Store to see whether the update is available. Since the rollout is gradual, some users may need to wait before the new designs appear.
The update follows Google’s wider effort to bring selected features from newer Pixel devices to older models. It also makes the Pixel Watch 4 more customisable without requiring a hardware upgrade.

Passionategeekz Take
Bringing newer watch faces to the Pixel Watch 4 is a welcome move from Google. Smartwatch upgrades do not always need to involve new hardware, and small software improvements can make an existing device feel fresh again.
The reported AI watch face generator could make customisation even more interesting. However, users will need to wait for the gradual rollout and check which features are available on their devices.
