Apple has introduced a new MacBook Pro with a touchscreen, a tandem OLED display and its M5 Pro and M5 Max processors. The laptop is available in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes and introduces Dynamic Island on Mac.
The new model is designed for professional users who need a high-quality display and powerful hardware for demanding work. Its touchscreen adds another way to interact with photos, documents, presentations and creative applications.

Apple has opened pre-orders in supported markets. Its India product page currently lists availability from November 9, 2026. Buyers should check the official Apple India store for current configurations, offers and availability.

Tandem OLED Display With Touch
The new MacBook Pro uses a tandem OLED panel branded PROLED XDR. It offers up to 2,000 nits peak HDR and SDR brightness and a claimed contrast ratio of 10,000,000:1.
The display supports an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz and covers both P3 and Adobe RGB colour spaces. This makes it suitable for colour-sensitive work such as photography, video editing and design.
The touchscreen supports gestures such as scrolling, zooming, rotating and drawing. Apple says the touch sensor is integrated into the display panel to reduce latency. A redesigned hinge is intended to keep the screen stable during touch interactions.
The keyboard and trackpad remain important parts of the experience. Touch is an additional input method rather than a replacement for the familiar Mac controls.
Dynamic Island Comes to Mac
Apple has brought Dynamic Island to the Mac for the first time. It provides a place for Spotlight, Live Activities and Siri AI, allowing users to access useful information without leaving their current task.
Creative applications can also benefit from touch. Users can draw directly on the screen, manipulate objects and interact with virtual instruments in supported software.
M5 Pro and M5 Max Performance
The new models use Apple’s M5 Pro and M5 Max processors. The M5 Pro is aimed at demanding everyday professional workloads, while M5 Max targets more intensive work such as visual effects, 3D animation and local AI development.
Configurations are available with up to 128GB of unified memory and up to 16TB of storage. The laptop also includes three Thunderbolt 5 ports, HDMI, an SDXC card slot, MagSafe, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.
Apple rates battery life at up to 24 hours under its own test conditions. Actual endurance will depend on screen brightness, applications and the selected hardware configuration.
What Should Indian Buyers Know?
The touchscreen models start at ₹3,49,900 in India, making them expensive options. Buyers should consider whether their work will benefit from touch and the OLED display before paying the premium.
The standard M6 MacBook Pro remains a different option, with a non-touch Liquid Retina XDR display. People who mainly write documents, browse the web or attend meetings may find it offers better value for their needs.

Passionategeekz Take
The touchscreen MacBook Pro is a major change for Apple’s professional laptops. The OLED panel, touch controls and Dynamic Island could make creative work more direct, while the M5 Pro and M5 Max provide the computing power needed for demanding applications.
The price is high, so this laptop makes the most sense for professionals who can use its new features. Buyers should compare the touchscreen model with the standard MacBook Pro before deciding which configuration offers the best value.
