Huawei is gearing up to launch its next-generation flagship lineup, the Mate 80 series, in November 2025. According to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, the series will consist of four models: Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro+, and Mate 80 RS. Positioned as a strong rival to the Apple iPhone 17 lineup, the Mate 80 range is expected to deliver major upgrades in design, performance, and imaging.

Huawei Mate 80 Series: Expected Camera and Display Features
The series will introduce notable differences across models. The standard Mate 80 may include a 50MP 1/1.5-inch sensor, while the Mate 80 Pro is expected to feature a 50MP 1/1.3-inch unit. The high-end Mate 80 Pro+ and RS are tipped to adopt a 50MP 1/1.3-inch SmartSens 590 sensor, promising better low-light performance and detail capture.
On the display front, the Mate 80 Pro could feature a 2.5D flat panel and possibly support 3D face recognition. Meanwhile, the Mate 80 Pro+ and Mate 80 RS might introduce both 2.5D and 4D deep curvature screen designs. The highlight of the lineup is expected to be the Mate 80 RS, which may come with a 6.9-inch dual-layer OLED display. This innovative technology uses stacked emission layers to deliver higher brightness, improved power efficiency, and longer lifespan compared to traditional OLED panels.
Huawei Mate 80 Series: Design, Performance, and Battery
Huawei is reportedly experimenting with titanium alloy frames and ceramic-textured glass backs to give the Mate 80 series a premium feel. Powering the devices will be the upcoming Kirin 9030 chipset, which promises breakthrough internal architecture and improved efficiency. Battery capacity across the series could exceed 6000mAh, with support for 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. Connectivity features may include 5G and satellite communication.
Huawei Mate 80 Series: Software and Ecosystem
On the software side, Huawei will continue leveraging HarmonyOS to strengthen its ecosystem. Reports suggest expanded AI features, improved power efficiency, and support for eSIM to enhance user experience. Industry analysts believe these upgrades could help Huawei bridge the gap with Apple in areas such as AI services, communication technology, and energy management.
With its combination of cutting-edge design, advanced camera technology, and long-lasting battery life, the Huawei Mate 80 series could be one of the most competitive flagship launches of late 2025.
