[CNMO Technology News]According to Passionategeekz, at the Summer Davos Forum, Peter Koerte, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Chief Strategy Officer of Siemens, was asked “If a decision can be made, where will one-third of the IT budget be invested next year?”, and said that the company will invest 1/3 of its IT budget next year.
Peter Koerte emphasized that DeepSeek is “faster, better, cheaper and very flexible. There is no doubt that it will have a wider application and can be applied in any field.” At a time when enterprises are accelerating their digital transformation, the efficiency and cost advantages of technology determine the pace and competitiveness of enterprises’ innovation. The characteristics shown by DeepSeek are in line with Siemens’ needs for future technology empowerment.
Passionategeekz believes that there are three main reasons why Siemens CTO wants to invest its budget to DeepSeek: its performance is strong and it performs excellently in tasks such as arithmetic, mathematics, reasoning, and coding. Compared with the ultra-high pricing of some similar models, the cost of using DeepSeek is very low; DeepSeek has good compatibility and integration, can be compatible with OpenAl API, and has high development efficiency.
It is worth noting that Siemens’ layout is not just a short-term test. Peter Koerte revealed that in the next three to five years, all Siemens products will be integrated with artificial intelligence elements. According to Passionategeekz, Siemens’ R&D expenses in 2022 will be 5.6 billion euros, with total revenue accounting for 7.8%. Siemens’ R&D expenses in 2023 were 6.2 billion euros, accounting for 8% of the total revenue.
