[CNMO Technology News]According to Axios, US President Donald Trump will extend the grace period for the third time this week on TikTok, for a period of 90 days, allowing the application’s operations in the United States to continue. The White House has confirmed the news today.

Since the Protection of Americans from Foreign Adversary Control Application Act came into effect on January 19, 2025, TikTok has been legally banned in the United States unless its parent company ByteDance sells its U.S. business to a non-Chinese company. But so far, TikTok has not completed its sale. Although the ban has officially come into effect, Trump has issued an executive grace order twice to delay the implementation of the ban. The current second grace period will expire on June 19, and this is his third extension since taking office in January this year.

The bill requires TikTok to complete the company’s ownership change transaction within a limited time, otherwise it will face a complete removal and ban in the United States. It is worth noting that under the current extension measures, TikTok can still be used and downloaded normally in the United States, and the US Department of Justice will not enforce a ban on TikTok for the time being.

Since January this year, Trump has been committed to recapturing TikTok’s operations from China by establishing U.S. ownership. The Trump team has considered the offer from Oracle, Perplexity and Amazon, as well as the offer from Jimmy Donaldson (nicknamed “MrBeast”, Shark Tank host Kevin O’Leary, Employer.com founder Jesse Tinsley and billionaire Frank McCourt.
