VMS Group from Hong Kong puts millions in crypto for the first time, according to Bloomberg This group is a family investment fund that manages nearly $ 4 billion in assets. This time it is not even about Bitcoin, but an investment of 10 million dollars in the RE7 Capital fund, a party that focuses on Defi.
From real estate to crypto
VMS Group has been around for twenty years and has so far worked mainly with long -term investments, for example in private equity. In addition, you buy shares from companies that are not yet on the stock exchange. But nowadays more and more companies are waiting for such an IPO. This makes it more difficult for investors to get their money out of it again.
According to CEO Elton Cheung, it’s time for a different approach. “We see more demand for Crypto and there is more and more support from governments. Large financial parties are now taking on. That’s why we think this is the right time,” he told Bloomberg.
VMS manages the money from a number of the richest families in Hong Kong, including from the real estate and industrial sector. Names are not mentioned. In addition to crypto, they also invest in technology, pharmacy and artificial intelligence.

VMS consciously chooses not to buy Bitcoin or other coins directly. They invest through RE7 Capital in a so -called market -neutral fund. This means that the risk of large price fluctuations is smaller.
The fund earns returns by delivering liquidity to decentralized fairs and by lending stable coins, so -called stablecoins. Through smart strategies and coverings, they try to limit price fluctuations.
According to RE7 founder Evgeny Gokhberg, crypto remains attractive for large investors. “Many people think that you can either lose everything or earn a hundred times your efforts. But serious parties are mainly looking for stable returns, and we offer that,” he says. Since its foundation in 2021, RE7 has been supplying double digits to returns for years.
Younger generation wants something different
VMS now also looks beyond Defi. In London, the group has appointed a new expert for digital investments since the end of last year. For example, the company is now investigating how you can integrate crypto payments into real estate projects in Vietnam, where they have many interests.
According to the London VMS manager Zhi Li, the younger generation within wealthy families is particularly interested in Crypto. “They really want to do something else with their assets,” he says.
