[CNMO Technology News]On June 25, the “Digital Chat Station” revealed that the frequency information of the DVT (design verification test) version of the second-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Supreme Edition (model SM8850) has been leaked. According to the news, the main frequency of this flagship mobile platform will reach 4.8GHz, while the high-frequency version will reach 5.3GHz. This frequency setting is significantly improved compared to previous generations.
Looking back at the first generation of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Supreme Edition (SM8750/Snapdragon 8E), the core frequency of its ordinary version is 4.32GHz, and the high-frequency version is 4.47GHz. The frequency jump of this second-generation product shows Qualcomm’s progress in process technology and architecture optimization. It is worth noting that the second generation adopts Qualcomm’s self-developed Oryon CPU architecture, which marks the company’s further deepening of chip design autonomy.
In terms of performance, the second-generation Snapdragon 8 Supreme Edition is expected to exceed 4,000 points in the Geekbench 6 benchmark test, and the multi-core theoretical performance is expected to exceed 11,000 points, which is about 30% and more than 12% respectively compared with the first-generation products. In addition, the platform is equipped with 16MB of GMEM cache and is equipped with a high-performance Adreno 840 GPU.
Qualcomm officially revealed that the second-generation Snapdragon 8 Supreme Edition is expected to be officially released in September this year.
