The price of Suzuki’s first electric car e Vitara is announced, and Toyota Urban Cruiser will adopt the same technical solution

Passionategeekz On June 21, Suzuki’s first pure electric model, e Vitara, will be launched overseas next month, with a starting price of 29,999 pounds (Passionategeekz Note: the current exchange rate is approximately RMB 290,000).

This car is “sister” with Toyota’s upcoming Urban Cruiser, offering a variety of configuration options. The flagship model “Ultra ALLGRIP-e 4WD” version is priced at £37,799. The specific configuration and price correspond to the following:

• 49kWh Motion 2WD: 29,999 pounds (current exchange rate is approximately RMB 290,000)

• 61kWh Motion 2WD: 32,999 pounds (current exchange rate is approximately RMB 319,000)

• 61kWh Ultra 2WD: 35,799 pounds (current exchange rate is approximately RMB 346,000)

• 61kWh Motion ALLGRIP – e 4WD: 34,999 pounds (current exchange rate is approximately RMB 339,000)

• 61kWh Ultra ALLGRIP – e 4WD: 37,799 pounds (current exchange rate is approximately RMB 366,000)

In terms of power, the new car provides lithium iron phosphate batteries of 49kWh and 61kWh, corresponding to WLTP range of 346km and 428km respectively; it provides single-motor two-wheel drive (2WD) and dual-motor four-wheel drive (4WD) models. The flagship model adopts the ALLGRIP-e four-wheel drive system exclusively developed by Suzuki for e Vitara, making it one of the few brands to layout electric four-wheel drive SUVs.

e Vitara is built on Suzuki’s new HEARTECT-e pure electric platform, integrating eAxle electric drive system and lithium iron phosphate battery.

As the result of the deepening of the alliance between the two parties, Toyota’s upcoming electric SUV, Urban Cruiser (the white model is this model), will directly use Suzuki’s electric drive technology, which is the “replacement version of the e Vitara”.

In terms of body size, the e Vitara has a length, width and height of 4275mm×1800mm×1635mm, and a wheelbase of 2700mm, which is close to the Kia EV3 (4300mm×1850mm×1560mm, and a wheelbase of 2680mm).

In terms of market performance, Kia EV3 was not only the best-selling retail pure electric vehicle in the UK in the first quarter of this year, but also the fourth best-selling electric vehicle in the UK (including commercial vehicles).

The starting price of Kia EV3 is 33,005 pounds (current exchange rate is approximately RMB 319,000), and is available in 58.3kWh (WLTP range of 430km) and 81.48kWh (599km) versions, forming a direct competitive relationship with e Vitara.

In order to attract the first batch of users, Suzuki will also launch multiple preferential policies:

• Financial plan: 20% down payment can enjoy a 2-year 0-rate PCP loan. Take the 61kWh 2WD model as an example. After the down payment of 8,436 pounds, the monthly payment is 379 pounds;

• Charging benefits: Order your car before September 30, and get a free Ohme home charger and a 10,000-mile home charging limit.
