Passionategeekz On June 21, the technology media notebookcheck published a blog post yesterday (June 20), reporting that Tesla has invited guests to hold a grand press conference in Austin on June 22.The launch of the Robotaxi shared travel platform will be announced.
Passionategeekz cited the blog post and said that according to the invitation letter and partially announced terms, the early testing phase is only limited to invited users. The test vehicle is a driverless Model Y, with a running time from 6 o’clock to midnight every day, and is limited to specific geofence areas only.
Tesla has invited many media and automotive industry opinion leaders to participate in the early testing of the Robotaxi platform. Invited users can download the exclusive Robotaxi app, which will display fees denominated in US dollars, including airport fees, vehicle cleaning fees, etc.
Tesla said that although the possible airport fees included in the ride-hailing application have been listed, the initial testing phase is not supported for the airport.
To ensure the security and privacy of the Robotaxi platform, Tesla has taken a number of technical measures. For example, each test vehicle will be equipped with a “safety monitor” who can control the vehicle through the brake pedal and emergency stop buttons.
In addition, Tesla has promised to suspend service in bad weather and ensure that the camera in the car is only turned on when passengers ask for help. The microphone in the car will continue to operate to detect the sirens of the emergency vehicle. The sound will not be transmitted to the Tesla server unless the user needs to contact the platform customer service or call 911.
