Passionategeekz reported on June 21 that the 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games will be held at the National Stadium (Bird’s Nest) and the National Speed ​​Skating Hall (Ice Ribbon) from August 15 to 17, 2025. Starting from now on, the “2025 World Humanoid Robot Games Competition Rules (First Batch)” has been adjusted based on the collected opinions and suggestions and can be downloaded simultaneously.

This Robot Games has designed a total of 22 main events and 5 peripheral events. The first batch of main events include 19 events in three categories: competitive competitions, exhibition competitions, and scene competitions.The peripheral events include three sub-events: badminton, basketball and table tennisfocusing on performance and interaction with the audience.

On this basis, 3 main events were added to the second batch of competition content.Including 2 events in the “Martial Arts” and “Inspiration” exhibition competition“Warehouse Center Scene – Mixed Sorting Skill Competition” scene competition, 2 new events include free fighting and group dance.

Passionategeekz with Robot Requirements

  • The participating robots are robots developed, purchased or rented by the participating teams.

  • The robot should be an independent whole and must not be separated into multiple subunits (except remote control boxes, remote operating equipment, router equipment) or subunits connected with soft cables, and markers must not be set in the competition venue.

  • The robot should have a torso, upper limbs, and both feet. The maximum stretching distance from the effective center of gravity to the soles of the foot is 40%-70% of the body height (the robots participating in free gymnastics competitions, exhibition competitions, and scene competitions, and no specific requirements are made for the effective center of gravity). Among them, the lower limbs of the robot participating in the scene competition can be wheeled or bipedal.

  • Robots participating in standing long jump and on-site high jump competitions are not allowed to install any elastic devices, takeoff devices or other assistive auxiliary equipment.

  • Robots should bring their own energy; use of any energy deemed dangerous is prohibited.

  • The control method of the robot can be manual remote control (including semi-automatic, which can only be used for wireless remote control. The remote operator must perform remote control in the designated area), or it can be completely autonomous (the entire competition must be completed by the robot, except for sending the start command in the designated area). Among them, in free gymnastics, stand-alone dance, and group dance competitions, the robot’s control method must be completely autonomous.

  • The network used by the robot during the competition is provided by each participating team, and its use shall not interfere with the normal operation of the competition.

Team requirements

  • Domestic and foreign enterprises, universities, research institutes, innovation teams, clubs, other social organizations can all register.

  • Each participating team can sign up for multiple competitions and can use different robots to participate in different competitions, but the robots are not allowed to be replaced during the competition.

  • During the competition, each participating team is allowed to enter the competition venue by up to 2 participating teams. The 4×100m relay event is allowed to enter the competition venue.

  • Except for the 4×100m relay event, no more than 4 participating teams can be jointly participated, and only participating teams are allowed to participate independently in the remaining events.
