TDK acquires SoftEye, a developer of smart glasses software and hardware, to expand its AI ecosystem business

Passionategeekz On June 19, Japan’s TDK (TED) announced today that it has acquired SoftEye, a developer of American smart glasses software and hardware system solutions, further expanding its AI ecosystem business.

SoftEye is engaged in the development of smart glasses custom chips, cameras, software and algorithms, and has low-power eye tracking and object recognition technology. After the transaction is completed, it will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of TDK.

TDK will be able to deliver a complete smart glasses system at a faster speed through this acquisitionand create a brand new HMI (Passionategeekz Note: Human-machine Interface) to enable interaction with AI through eye movement.
