Passionategeekz On June 30, foreign media Carscoops released a set of road test spy photos of Volkswagen Cupra Raval, which is a derivative of ID.2 in Volkswagen.

Raval uses a new short-wheelbase version of the Volkswagen MEB platform, which is specially designed for models smaller than the Golf size, and the ID.3 is the smallest electric car at the moment. In addition, the platform adopts a front-mounted front-wheel drive single motor layout.

The concept models of Raval and ID.2 are equipped with maximum power 223 horsepower (166 kW)The starting price of the front-wheel drive motor, the mass production version is about 29000 Dollar

In order to control costs, entry-level models are expected to be equipped with Small battery pack with a 38 kWh battery life of about 300 kmmore suitable for urban commuting. High-end models are available 56 kWh battery, battery life up to 440 km. Fast charging power of up to 125 kW makes it only takes about 20 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%.

The Raval prototype is still covered with camouflage, and the front close-up has revealed many design details. From the back of the camouflage sticker, it can be seen that the real light group seems to be in a triangular shape, which is different from the previous concept car.

The image also shows Cupra engineers attempting to cover most areas of vertical vents on both sides and large-sized black grilles with white plastic. The mass-produced version also has changes in the hood design, with the front edge concave and an “M”-shaped outline, which may be inspired by the double-bulge hood commonly found in V8 models.

Passionategeekz learned from the report that since the Cupra has a tougher suspension tuning than Volkswagen, the Raval’s driving control performance is also expected to be more sportier than the ID.2.
