Passionategeekz On June 23, in an unexpected event, Sega leaked sales data for many of its recent important games, including some works in the “Like A Dragon”, “Sonic” and “Persona” series. The data were originally included in a demonstration file uploaded to the investor relations website by Sega’s parent company Sega Sammy, and a slide in the file hides a sales data form. Although Sega Sami quickly removed the file after discovering the problem, the relevant data has been fully archived by the Resetera website.

According to leaked documents, Persona 5 Royal has sold more than 7 million sets. Sonic Frontiers sold about 4.5 million sets, while the recent series of works like Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Yakuza: Like a Dragon, sold 1.66 million and 2.86 million sets respectively.

The sales data of each game are as follows:

  • “Royal: Infinite Wealth”: 1.66 million sets

  • “Red Dragon 7 Legend: The Nameless Dragon”: 960,000 sets

  • “Persona 3 Reload”: 2.07 million sets

  • “Sonic: Superstar”: 2.43 million sets

  • “Sonic Unknown Border”: 4.57 million sets

  • Total War: Warhammer 3: 2.34 million sets

  • “Reincarnation of the True Goddess 5 (including the Revenge Edition)”: 2.11 million sets

  • “Yakuza: Like a Dragon”: 2.86 million sets

  • “Persona 5 Royal Edition (including remake)”: 7.25 million sets

  • “Team Sonic Racing”: 3.5 million sets

  • “Total War: Three Kingdoms”: 3.21 million sets

Passionategeekz noticed that Sega launched a number of highly acclaimed games in 2024, including “Metacritic Fantasy: ReFantazio”, “Reincarnation of the True Goddess 5: Revenge” and “Red: Infinite Fortune”, and therefore became the highest-rated publisher of Metacritic last year. In addition, Sega officially announced this weekend that it will open a flagship store in Tokyo, Japan – Sega Store Tokyo. Although no specific details have been released yet, VGC reported last year that the store will be located in the Parco Mall in Shibuya, in the same building as the Nintendo Tokyo store, Capcom official store and the Pokémon Center.
