Passionategeekz On June 21, the official Jolla forum issued an announcement on June 19.It announced that it would abandon the mandatory system of Sailfish Sailfish OS to update the paid subscription system and announced that it would change to a voluntary payment system.

If consumers purchase Jolla C2 community version smartphones, except for the first year system updates included in the mobile phone price (299 euros), they will need to pay a subscription fee starting from the second year, which is 25 euros per year (Passionategeekz Note: the current exchange rate is approximately RMB 207) before they can enjoy subsequent system updates.

This subscription paid model is obviously unpopular with consumers, and in the latest announcement, Jolla promises to provide free 5-year updates to all Jolla C2 smartphones for users who have not purchased it or have purchased the phone.

Jolla said it will implement a new subscription plan in July, when new implementation details will be announced.
