Xiaomi has started pre-sales for the new Redmi TV X RGB-Mini LED 2027 Competition Edition in China. The new TV brings a major upgrade to its backlight system, along with a high refresh rate designed for competitive gaming. Retail sales are scheduled to begin on October 12.

RGB-Mini LED technology takes centre stage
The biggest upgrade comes from Xiaomi’s new RGB-Mini LED backlight system. Instead of using a conventional white-light Mini LED setup, the TV uses separate red, green and blue light emitters.
Xiaomi says the new architecture can reduce power consumption by up to 30% while delivering wider colour coverage. The panel is rated to cover 100% of the ultra-wide BT.2020 colour gamut, making it particularly interesting for users who care about colour accuracy and HDR content.
The display can reach up to 1,300 nits of peak brightness and comes with factory calibration targeting a Delta E of around 2.
For better viewing comfort, Xiaomi has added an AG nano-soft light coating to reduce reflections. The TV also includes Qingshan eye-comfort tuning for extended viewing sessions.
180Hz display with 360Hz Competition Mode
The Redmi TV X RGB-Mini LED 2027 Competition Edition is built with gaming in mind. The panel supports a native 180Hz refresh rate, while a dedicated Competition Mode can increase the refresh rate to 360Hz.
This should make the TV particularly appealing to PC and console gamers who want smoother motion and faster on-screen response during competitive games.
Connectivity includes three HDMI ports, with two HDMI 2.1 ports supporting eARC. There are also two USB ports, including one USB 3.0 port, along with Ethernet, optical audio output and dual-band Wi-Fi 6.
HyperOS 4 and smart home features
The TV is powered by a five-core Cortex-A55 processor paired with an ARM Mali-G52 GPU. It comes with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Software is handled by Xiaomi HyperOS 4, which brings the latest Xiao Ai conversational assistant and integration with Xiaomi’s wider smart home ecosystem.
Audio is handled by a four-speaker system with a combined 30W output.
Four screen sizes and pricing
Xiaomi is offering the Redmi TV X RGB-Mini LED 2027 Competition Edition in four sizes:
- 55-inch — 432 local dimming zones — 2,705 yuan
- 65-inch — 528 local dimming zones — 3,411 yuan
- 75-inch — 720 local dimming zones — 4,117 yuan
- 85-inch — 864 local dimming zones — 5,293 yuan
The larger models receive more local dimming zones, which should help improve contrast and control blooming across the bigger panels.
For now, the TV is limited to the Chinese market. Xiaomi has not confirmed international availability or whether the model will launch globally under the same Redmi branding.

Passionategeekz Take
The Redmi TV X RGB-Mini LED 2027 Competition Edition is an interesting step forward for gaming TVs. Its RGB-Mini LED backlight, 180Hz native refresh rate and 360Hz Competition Mode give it a strong focus on both picture quality and competitive gaming.
The 100% BT.2020 coverage claim is another major highlight, while HyperOS 4 makes the TV a more connected part of Xiaomi’s smart home ecosystem.
With prices starting at 2,705 yuan, the new lineup looks aggressive in China. The big question now is whether Xiaomi will bring this RGB-Mini LED technology to international markets.
