[CNMO Technology News]Recently, data released by institutions showed that in the first quarter of 2025, the shipment of PC market in mainland China reached 8.9 million units, a year-on-year increase of 12%.
In the PC market segment, the consumer market and the commercial market show different development trends. Benefiting from government subsidies, notebook shipments in the consumer market increased significantly by 20% year-on-year, showing a strong growth trend. The commercial market is relatively stable, with the PC purchase volume of large enterprises remaining unchanged, while the SMB market has seen its first growth after 11 consecutive quarters of decline, up 2% year-on-year.
From the perspective of market structure, Lenovo stands out among many brands, and has firmly ranked first in the PC market with its years of market planning and diversified product lines. In addition, other manufacturers such as SoftTong Power, Huawei and Apple also achieved growth in the first quarter of 2025.
Canalys said: “In the past two years, the PC market structure in mainland China has changed significantly, and competition among local brands has become increasingly fierce. Huawei’s Hongmeng OS PC released in May may be another potential turning point. Although there are quite a few challenges in promoting consumer and developer adoption, with its long-term accumulation in the mobile device field and new advantages in AI, Hongmeng OS is expected to redefine the competitive landscape of the PC market in the medium and long term.”
Passionategeekz expects that as the consumption subsidy effect weakens, the overall PC market in mainland China will remain stable in 2025, with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMBs) and public sectors expected to achieve 4% and 1% growth this year, respectively.
