[CNMO Technology News]According to the latest research by market research institutions, in the first quarter of 2025, Indian PC (excluding tablets) shipments increased by 13% year-on-year to 3.3 million units. Among them, Lenovo ranked second with a shipment volume of 620,000 units.
In the first quarter, HP achieved the first place with 960,000 units shipments and 28.9% market share. Lenovo’s market share increased from the same period last year (15.7%) to 18.8%, with annual shipments increasing by 34.8%, and achieved shipments of about 630,000 units, ranking second. Acer and Dell ranked third and fourth respectively with sales of about 530,000 and 450,000 units. Apple achieved approximately 240,000 units shipments with an outstanding annual increase of 73.0%, ranking fifth.
During the growth in the first quarter of 2025, laptops became the main growth driver, with shipments increasing by 21% to 2.4 million units. In contrast, desktop shipments fell by 3% year-on-year to 906,000 units.
AI laptops continued to heat up in the first quarter of 2025, with shipments soaring by 253% year-on-year. Shipments of high-end notebooks sold at over $1,000 increased by 49%, reflecting strong demand for high-performance devices from consumers and commercial customers. In terms of commercial PCs, shipments increased by 11%. The consumer market performed more prominently, with shipments increasing by 16% year-on-year.
It is worth mentioning that compared with the hot growth of the PC market, the shipment of tablets is not optimistic. India’s tablet shipments in the first quarter were 1 million units, with an annual growth rate of 23.5%. The shipments of Samsung and Acer both fell sharply. In contrast, the shipments of Apple, Lenovo and Xiaomi rose against the trend, and the market share all increased.
