Passionategeekz June 18th news, Korean media etnews reported yesterday that Samsung Electronics completed its first performance evaluation of the UCIe prototype chip made by SF4X, a derivative variant of HPC/AI high-performance chip, with a 4nm process.

UCIe is a general chiplet/chiplet interconnection interface specification. Cores that are from different sources, different processes but all meet the definition of this specification can also achieve interconnection communication, thereby combining the “islands” of the core particle ecosystem into a “continent”.

The report pointed out that Samsung optimized UCIe IP for its own process last year, and the normal working of the sample under the existing design is a milestone before the technology achieves commercial mass production. It is reported that Samsung’s prototype chip has been implemented 24Gbps transmission bandwidththe next step is to expand this technology to the most advanced 2nm node.
