A new trailer for “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Arc” is set to debut in theaters on May 9, following a screening of “Demon Slayer: Mugen Train Arc.” This exclusive trailer will showcase new footage and will only be available to those attending the limited-time revival screening of “Mugen Train Arc,” which will run for five weeks in Japan.
The revival of “Mugen Train Arc” is also being released globally, with tickets already on sale for its North American premiere on May 14. Crunchyroll has confirmed that the screening will be available in the US, Canada, and select international regions.
“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Arc” marks the beginning of a movie trilogy, with its release scheduled for July 18, 2025. The film will be released internationally soon after its Japan premiere, with global dates ranging from August 14 to September 25.
In anticipation of the film’s release, the franchise has initiated the Infinity Castle Countdown Project, which reveals daily character visuals counting down to the premiere. The first visual features Tanjiro and marks 97 days until the film’s debut.
The “Demon Slayer” manga, created by Koyoharu Gotoge, was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2016 to May 2020, culminating in 23 volumes. The anime adaptation, produced by ufotable, premiered in 2019, with its first film, “Mugen Train,” released in 2020. This film became the highest-grossing anime movie of all time, surpassing “Spirited Away” and “Your Name.” It has since been re-edited into episodes for TV broadcast and is currently streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
The anime has also produced several seasons, with the recent Season 3 focusing on the Swordsmith Village Arc and upcoming Season 4 set to cover the Hashira Training Arc. Additional projects for the franchise are also in the works.
