Passionategeekz On June 18, monitor evaluation agency Monitors Unboxed released a video last week showing the 15-month burn-in test results of MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED monitor (Passionategeekz Note: 3,800 hours in total).
The test setting conditions are stricter than conventional use scenarios:
-
Run statically for 8 hours a day
-
Run 7 days a week
-
Mainly displays static application interface
-
Screen brightness is set to 200 nits
-
Windows 11 Light mode with dark taskbar
Test results:
-
1-2 months: No screen burning occurs
-
6 months: Slight screen burning signs appear (requires deliberate comparison)
-
9-12 months: trace visibility further improves
-
15 months: The screen burning traces are already visible
As shown in the figure, the most obvious traces in the test appear in the dark taskbar area and the center line of the application split screen.
But even so, the tester still needs a green display or enhanced filter to assist in observation to see the changes, which is difficult for people who are unaware of it in advance. For ordinary users, as long as they discontinuously display static images for more than half a year, it is difficult to have too much impact on the monitor.
