[CNMO Technology News]On June 23, Xiaomi Chairman Lei Jun responded to the question of whether the Xiaomi YU7 can surpass Tesla Model Y’s domestic sales. Lei Jun said: “Many friends asked me if Xiaomi YU7 has the opportunity to surpass the sales of Model Y in the Chinese market? Model Y, as a recognized ‘epic masterpiece’ in the industry, has won the global sales championship for many years, defeating many challengers, and its strength cannot be underestimated.”
Despite this, Lei Jun still set a “seemingly outrageous” goal for Xiaomi YU7: to continue to challenge Model Y. He added: “I am very confident in the product itself. As for the sales volume, it depends on the market reaction after the release.”
Xiaomi YU7 is a sports SUV-oriented model, which is available in three different configurations: Standard Edition, Pro Edition and Max Edition. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of YU7 are 4999 mm, 1996 mm and 1600/1608 mm respectively, and the wheelbase reaches 3000 mm.
In terms of the power system, the standard version is equipped with a single motor, with a peak power of up to 235 kilowatts and a maximum speed of up to 240 kilometers per hour, and uses lithium iron phosphate batteries provided by Fudi. The Max version with stronger performance is equipped with dual front and rear motors. The peak power of the front motor is 220 kilowatts and the rear motor is 288 kilowatts. The comprehensive peak power is as high as 508 kilowatts and the maximum speed can reach 253 kilometers per hour. In addition, the Max version also uses CATL’s ternary lithium battery and is equipped with a lidar system standard.
