Lava has quietly expanded its entry-level smartphone lineup in India with the introduction of the Lava Smart 4. The new smartphone arrives as a more affordable sibling to the recently launched Lava Smart 4 Plus, offering a similar overall experience while trimming a few specifications to reach a lower price segment. The handset is already making its way to offline retail stores, although the company is yet to officially announce its pricing and availability details.
Compared to the Lava Smart 4 Plus, the new Smart 4 retains the same octa-core processor and 5,000mAh battery but compromises on memory, storage, camera hardware, and display resolution. It is aimed at first-time smartphone buyers and users looking for a reliable Android Go smartphone for everyday tasks.

The Smart 4 Plus continues to be the better-equipped device with its larger HD+ display, higher-resolution 13MP AI camera, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, Android 15 Go Edition, and IP64 rating. However, the Smart 4 still offers the same processor, battery capacity, 90Hz refresh rate, and USB Type-C charging, making it a competitive option in the ultra-budget smartphone segment.
Lava has not officially revealed the price of the Smart 4 at the time of writing. Since the Smart 4 Plus is priced at ₹9,999, the Smart 4 is expected to launch at a lower price point, making it one of Lava’s most affordable smartphones in India.
